Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, John Hitchins III graduated from The Westminster Schools
in Atlanta and attended UGA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science.
His blood runs red and black in support of UGA and the Atlanta Falcons.
He is passionate about wanting to be sure the decisions
about energy conservation and commerce that are made now will continue to benefit all Georgians, now and later.
Decisions made by some of our elected officials that are beholden only to corporation profits now without consideration of repercussions later, is just bad business. Hardworking Georgians deserve better and John plans
For the past ten years John has worked in the
conservation field in programming, fundraising and advocacy. He is also an avid philanthropist and has volunteered with Georgia Special Olympics and
was a little league baseball coach.
Currently, John volunteers with Trees Atlanta and
Habitat for Humanity. He also serves on the advisory
board of Lifecycle Building center in Atlanta and is an
elder at Trinity Presbyterian Church and chairs the
Mission Council there.
John is proud to be raising a 4th generation of Georgians
in his two children and enjoys taking them to the Georgia coast or just outdoors and teaching them to have an appreciation for this beautiful Earth that God has entrusted us with.
He thinks traveling with his wife, Lauren, may
be as good as it gets.
